Chinese actress Yang Chaoyue accused of abandoning her pets after she casually said one of her cats has gone 'gallivanting' and has no idea where he is

There are few things scarier than incurring the wrath of animal lovers as 24-year-old Chinese actress Yang Chaoyue recently learned.
It all started when netizens claimed that Chaoyue, who has two cats and a dog, has abandoned her furkids.
According to Chinese media, Chaoyue’s cat Orange often goes missing and the actress has been known to put up messages online (see below) to enlist the help of netizens to search for the cat.

On one of Chaoyue's recent live streams, when a fan mentioned Orange, the actress replied coldly: “Orange has gone gallivanting. Turns out he’s a fish that’s too big for this pond. He travels far to make his mark, but [this time] I think he has probably been found by someone else.”
Her response surprised netizens who speculated that Orange had gone missing again, but this time, Chaoyue has accepted that he's gone for good.
Her assistant attempted to clarify the situation, posting pics of the actress' other cat, Ruyi and her dog, Heng Heng on Weibo.
According to the assistant, Chaoyue travels a lot for work, and since it's not ideal for them to travel with her to different locations, the actress had no choice but to send Ruyi to live with a friend while Heng Heng is now in the care of Chaoyue’s mum.

The topic “Yang Chaoyue gives her pets away" quickly went viral, making it to the top searches of various Chinese sites.
As there were no photos of Orange, many believe that the cat is really missing, with some netizens going so far as to blame Chaoyue for “not sealing her windows”.
Prior to this, Chaoyue was also called an "irresponsible pet owner" for not taking good care of her dog, after she posted a pic of it looking unkempt.
However, her fans have come to her defense, saying that the current arrangement with her pets doesn't count as "abandonment".
What do you think?
