Dog That Bit Elva Hsiao On Her Cheek Is Reportedly Her Labrador Named Di Di
The adopted stray pooch is said to have a growth in his brain which affects his behaviour.
More details about Elva Hsiao’s facial injury has emerged. The Taiwanese pop diva was reportedly hospitalised for more than a month after she was bitten on her right cheek by a dog.
According to a friend of the singer, the incident took place at Elva’s home on February 17. The dog that bit the singer is her adopted stray pooch, a labrador named Di Di. Fans of netizens would know Di Di as the dog that made an appearance on Elva's reality show Meeting Mr Right.
Elva, who has five dogs, often lets her furkids play and sleep on her bed, and it was business as usual on the night the accident happened.
However, Di Di suddenly went out of control and attacked Elva, 41, and her 25-year-old boyfriend Justin Huang. Elva ended up getting bitten on her right cheek and Justin on the lips.
Elva rushed herself to the Taipei Medical University Hospital for emergency treatment, while Justin only got treated the next morning. As their wounds were quite deep and at risk of bacterial infection, the couple had to be hospitalised.
Elva was discharged on Tuesday (Mar 23), while Justin, who was more seriously injured, remains in hospital.
This is not the first time Elva has been bitten by Di Di.
According to the friend, Di Di attacked the singer last year but the injury wasn’t serious.
It's said that Di Di has a growth in his brain, which affects his ability to control his behaviour.
In fact, Di Di had displayed signs of violence on Meeting Mr Right. In one episode, Elva and Justin were in their car when Di Di suddenly started barking fiercely and charged to the back seat. Elva then had to coax Di Di to calm down.
Despite Di Di's at times violent behaviour, Elva insists on keeping Di Di.
Friends of the star told Apple Daily that when Elva was hospitalised, she had arranged for someone to take care of her dogs at home.
