Taiwanese man gropes Korean influencer while she's on live stream; gets arrested almost immediately after

Korean influencer Ohsevely, who has over 11K followers on Instagram, recently hosted a six-hour live stream about her day exploring the Tamsui District in Taiwan.

What was supposed to be fun adventure turned out to be a harrowing experience for her.

In a later part of the stream, Ohsevely was seen cycling on a rented rickshaw. Tailing her was a man, first on foot, and later on his motorbike.

The man was said to have offered her recommendations on places to visit in the area, and though Ohsevely did not give him the attention he clearly wanted, he stalked her for about an hour.

When the crowd started to thin, the man caught up with Ohsevely’s rickshaw. He then reached out and touched her thigh.

A panicked Ohsevely can be seen repeatedly telling the man: “Don’t touch."

When she eventually managed to lose him, she slowed down to gather her emotions. She later said that she was "shocked and stressed out" by his actions as she was travelling alone.

The man could be seen trailing behind her on foot and on his bike before reaching out to touch her inappropriately

Ohsevely’s stream quickly went viral, with many expressing anger and disgust at the man’s actions.

According to reports, the creep is 29 years old and his surname is 'Chen'. He was also arrested by Taiwan authorities two hours after Ohsevely's stream. Though Ohsevely had not made a police report at the time, they were alerted of the incident and proceeded to apprehend the man after reviewing the footage.

They also shared that they are waiting for Ohsevely to lodge a report before taking legal action against the man.

Ohsevely has since addressed the situation on Instagram.

“A few days ago I experienced something unpleasant during my holiday in Taiwan. The [video] has spread all across the internet and on news sites, and I’ve received a number of messages from reporters and the police on Instagram. I heard that the suspect has been arrested by Taiwan police,” she wrote.

She recounted how frightened she was, before saying that she “did not expect the authorities to investigate the case and arrest the man so quickly”, especially since she had not made a report.

She revealed that she has since contacted the Taiwan police, and expressed her wish for her harasser to only receive a warning.

She was also assured by the authorities that they would “do their best to prevent similar situations from happening again”.

“I’ve been to Taiwan three times for holiday, and it’s a great place where I’ve made many fond memories. I’m thankful for all the concern I’ve received from Taiwan citizens, and I feel comforted by it. I’ve received help from many locals during my trip [and] I think that the Taiwanese are very caring. [They] made me feel like Taiwan is a very safe place,” wrote Ohsevely in her post.

She then assured her followers that she is doing fine, and is currently taking a break from streaming. She has also turned down interview requests as she is currently recovering from Covid.

Taiwanese netizens have flooded Ohsevely’s post with concern, with some apologising for her unpleasant experience, and others thanking her for her appreciation of their home.
