Young and Dangerous baddie Michael Chan is 80; netizens lament how much he's aged

There's something really heart-wrenching about watching someone who used to be so fit suddenly become so frail.

That's how netizens felt when they saw a recent video of '90s Hong Kong martial artist Michael Chan Wai Man (陳惠敏), who faded out of showbiz many years ago.

In the video, which was shared on Chinese social media Xiao Hong Shu, the now 80-year-old Young and Dangerous star was giving a tour of his house in Sai Kung, Hong Kong.

Michael now needs a walking stick to get around, and in his white T-shirt, black pants and flip flops, looked significantly thinner than he used to be.

Netizens couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness after seeing how much Michael has aged.

"How did he suddenly get so old," lamented one netizen. Another wrote: "It took me so long to realise who he was! He aged so much."

A netizen also pointed out that Michael, who's best known for playing the vicious gangster Camel Lok in Young and Dangerous 3, "looks a lot kinder" now that he's old.

Michael has, in fact, gone through a lot in the past few years.

He suffered a stroke and battled lung cancer in 2020 and was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2021.

After spending a fortune on medical expenses and thanks to the devoted care of his wife, Ng Kwok Ying, Michael gradually recovered from his illness.

The star's house has a really old-school vibe Can you believe he's already 80? And even needs a walking stick to help him get around now Michael was only 52 when he played Camel in Young and Dangerous 3 (1996) Photos: chinapress, imdb
