AKB48’s Sayaka Akimoto, Amina Sato among 16 to perform at Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore

Sayaka Akimoto, Amina Sato and 14 other members of popular J-pop girl group AKB48 will be making a special appearance at the first ever Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore.

SINGAPORE: Sayaka Akimoto and Amina Sato will be among the 16 members of ultra-popular J-pop girl group AKB48, who will be performing at the first ever Tokyo Auto Salon (TAS) car exhibition held in Singapore.

The AKB48 girls will hold a meet and greet session on the first two days of the exhibition, along with a one-hour performance on the second day.

Their appearance at the TAS is just one of the many draws of the exhibition, which will be held from April 12 to14 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands.

Visitors will be able to see more than 150 rare and exotic cars like the VeilSide Toyota Supra and Spoon NSX up close at the massive exhibition, which is spread out over three cavernous exhibition halls.

They will also be able to check out the 40 competing cars in the Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore Autostyling Competition, which has car owners battling it out to create the ultimate customised car, and win the title “Top Auto Styling Masterpiece”.

There will be no lack of eye candy at the TAS – apart from the cool cars on display, about 50 race queens and car show models will grace the event, along with the participants of a model search organised by local men’s magazine “FHM”.
