Meghan Markle is (secretly) in New York for her baby shower
The Duchess Of Sussex is due to give birth in late April.
Meghan Markle has reportedly made a secret trip to New York City to celebrate the upcoming arrival of her and Prince Harry‘s first child, due in late April. A source told People that Markle’s friends are throwing her a baby shower before she heads back to London.
According to Harper's Bazaar and Page Six, the not-so-secret party will take place on Wednesday (Feb 20, Singapore time).
Over the weekend, the 37-year-old Duchess Of Sussex visited the Laduree restaurant and bakery in Manhattan's SoHo neighbourhood, a source confirmed to E! News.
A source told Harper's Bazaar that Markle's visit was planned months ago. "The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves. This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg until after the baby is born, so it's nice to share precious moments.”
"It's been a relaxing visit," another source told the outlet. "Nothing beats face time with your friends. Meg will be flying home refreshed and relaxed – and with a lot of new baby clothes."
No photos of her secret trip to New York were made public. Kensington Palace declined to comment on the visit.
Although she now lives in the UK, the former actress used to be Los Angeles based. Markle also used to live in Toronto during her time as an actress on the American legal drama television series Suits.
