Singaporean graphic artist Sonny Liew nominated for two Eisner awards at San Diego Comic-Con
Eternity Girl, in collaboration with writer Magdalene Visaggio, stands to win at San Diego Comic-Con this year.
Singaporean graphic artist Sonny Liew has picked up nominations in two categories at the 2019 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards, a prestigious event held yearly at Comic-Con International: San Diego.
The work Eternity Girl, which was authored by Magdalene Visaggio and illustrated by Liew, is nominated for Best Limited Series and Best Penciller/Inker.
Eternity Girl is about a powerful superhero who struggles with severe depression.

Liew, 44, is no stranger to the Eisners, having bagged three awards in 2017 for his graphic novel The Art Of Charlie Chan Hock Chye – Best Writer/Artist, Best US Edition of International Material – Asia and Best Publication Design – making him the first Singaporean to win an Eisner, the equivalent of an Oscar in the comics world.
The 2019 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards will take place on Jul 19 at the San Diego Comic-Con.
