Giant crowns, cut-outs: Burger King and KFC Singapore have fun with safe distancing
The two fast food chains have come up with quirky ideas to remind diners to take Phase 2 seriously.
As Singapore eases into Phase 2, two local fast food chains have come up with some quirky ideas to keep social distancing safe but fun.
Burger King has introduced giant safe distancing crowns to keep diners a metre apart, while KFC’s placing cut-outs of Colonel Sanders to keep you company while you dine in.
Burger King is giving away the over-sized headgear in various outlets from Wednesday (Jun 24) onwards, while stocks last. These massive giant crowns are free with an Burger King purchase of at least S$15. Alternatively, there is also a do-it-yourself version available for download at www.burgerking.com.sg.
As an added incentive, those who wear the safe distancing crowns in Burger King outlets between Jun 25 and Jul 4 are eligible for a one-for-one Whopper deal.
Entry to Burger King stores island-wide will still be limited, with safeguarding measures implemented, such as table top separators, counter shields, kiosk separators and booth dividers.
Similarly, over at KFC, all the necessary safeguarding measures are being implemented with the help of Colonel Sanders.
Two-dimensional cut-outs of the fast food chain founder are placed in-between diners until Jul 6 to ensure safe distancing (and Instagram photo ops).
The three cut-out versions – an “Original”, a “Buddy” and a “Zinger” – can be found at eight participating outlets: Compass One, JEM, Jurong Point, Kallang Stadium Boulevard, Northpoint City, Novena Square, Toa Payoh and Waterway Point.
