Sushi is extremely versatile. It can be enjoyed in casual to fine dining restaurants or as a quick takeaway.
One such takeout store is Chiyoda Sushi, which was founded in 1959 and has some 200 outlets in its native Japan.
It’s popular for its budget-friendly nigiri sushi, sold by the piece or in sets.

Chiyoda Sushi is opening its first Singapore outlet at Plaza Singapura in September. At press time, the hoarding was still up at the basement kiosk unit.
According to Chiyoda Sushi’s website, it uses ingredients from Tokyo’s Toyosu Market (formerly known as Tsukiji Market), which will be air-flown here for the Singapore branch.
Other than nigiri sushi, the chain also offers made-on-site “assorted sushi sets, seasonal fish sets, sets of your choice, sushi rolls, fusion-style sushi rolls and inari sushi”.
Chiyoda Sushi is opening circa September 2024 at #B1-56, 68 Orchard Road, Plaza Singapura, Singapore 238839.
