K-pop group 2NE1 is back! The four-piece veteran group – consisting of CL, Sandara Park, Minzy and Park Bom – is reuniting to celebrate its 15th anniversary with a global tour.

The news was announced by YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk on Monday (Jul 22) in a video posted on YouTube.

In the video, Yang outlined the plans for the group he referred to as the “first successful YG girl group” for the rest of the year and into 2025.

The tour will kick off in Seoul in October this year and include dates in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan, in end-November and December. Other dates and cities have not yet been announced as Yang said the agency is still "adjusting schedules for further performances".

Yang said: “I think this concert will be quite special. It resonates with those who grew up with 2NE1’s music, sharing those memories.”

2NE1 debuted in May 2009 with the single Fire and had hits including I Don’t Care, Lonely and Come Back Home. The group disbanded in April 2016 after Minzy left the band and its members pursued solo careers.

Rumours of the group reuniting sparked last month when Yang met with members of the group in Seoul, their first official meeting in eight years.

Members CL and Sandara will also be performing at the Waterbomb Singapore festival in August.
