Actress Xiang Yun paid tribute to Hong Kong veteran television producer Liang Liren who died yesterday (Jul 11) from complications following a kidney transplant.
Liang was the director of drama at the Singapore Broadcasting Authority (SBC – the predecessor of Mediacorp) from 1983 to 1986. He wrote classic local TV dramas such as The Mist Locks Nanyang and The Man on the Road.
Xiang wrote on Instagram this morning, “I just found out about the news this morning, I can’t believe it. Sad!”
She then went on to detail how Liang had helped her in her journey as an actress. “I was fortunate to have met a Liang and his experienced team. He made me a part of The Mist Locks Nanyang, The Man on the Road and many more classic drama hits."
"Surrounded by such talents, I was able to learn and grow as an actress. The experience not only laid a solid foundation for me as an artiste, it also helped me set a direction in life. And just like that, I plodded on for 39 years."
