Adele performs Rolling In The Deep, officiates best friend’s wedding
The singer's BFF, author Laura Dockrill, got married to Maccabees band member, Hugo White, at a London pub.
It seems Adele’s best friend, Laura Dockrill, really had it all at her wedding as the singer not only entertained guests but also officiated the event.
Adele took to the stage to belt out her hit, Rolling In The Deep. According to Entertainment Tonight, she also told the crowd that she will be releasing new music in September.
The wedding, held on Saturday (Feb 15) at Mason’s Arm pub in London, was between Dockrill and Hugo White of the band, Maccabees.
Clips of the performance have found their way on social media.
Adele and Dockrill, who is an author and illustrator, have been friends since school. The song, My Same, off Adele's first album, is about Dockrill.
The Hello singer is also the godmother to Dockrill’s son, and posted her support for her friend on Instagram after Dockrill was diagnosed with postpartum psychosis.
“This is my best friend. We have been friends for more of our lives than we haven’t. She had my beautiful godson 6 months ago and it was the biggest challenge of her life in more ways than one,” she wrote in the post.
According to Billboard, other VIP guests in attendance included Florence and the Machines’ Florence Welch herself, and English singer-songwriter Jessie Ware.
This isn’t the first time Adele has made a splash at a wedding. She officiated, planned and hosted the wedding of English comedian and TV personality Alan Carr.
What’s more, she even paid for the newlyweds to fly out to Las Vegas and attend a Celine Dion concert.
Carr told the Graham Norton Show: “It was absolutely perfect. The best day of my life.”
