Andy Serkis does a playful Chinatown jaunt while in Singapore
The actor-director is in town for work but managed to get some recreational time in.
Billions of blistering barnacles! Andy Serkis is well and truly in Singapore, as he announced via an Instagram post of a picture of himself posing at The Tintin Shop in Chinatown.
In the photo, the actor has positioned himself next to a larger-than-life Captain Haddock, mirroring the Captain’s signature grimace – a playful nod to his role in 2011’s The Adventures Of Tintin.
Here to attend a Netflix event to promote his upcoming self-directed adventure fantasy film, Mowgli, in which he also plays the character of Baloo the bear, the 54-year-old seems to have snuck in some recreational time before starting work.
Not only does he have a camera slung over his shoulder, he’s also assimilated into the local culture by dressing in the de facto Singaporean man’s uniform: A T-shirt and Bermuda shorts with cargo pockets, no less.
Smart man – bare shins are going to stand him in good stead if he chooses to chow down on some roadside satay and sugar cane juice.
