Ariana Grande falls on stage during concert, laughs it off as things 'going too well'
The singer was strutting on a catwalk when she lost her footing and tumbled into the arms of a dancer. Well, if she does need to take some time off to recover, she has a twin on TikTok who could fill in.
Singer Ariana Grande took a giant tumble while performing at her Tampa, Florida concert on Sunday (Nov 24) for her Sweetener tour.
She was strutting on a catwalk on the stage while wearing platform boots with a stiletto heel during her second song when she lost her footing and fell down on her knees before tumbling into the arms of a backup dancer.
Lucky for her, the male dancer caught her and helped her up just in time for her to end the song with a choreographed pose.
oh my. at least i still made the button. i’m crying. things were going too well. https://t.co/OuwXnTbQdo— Ariana Grande (@ArianaGrande) November 25, 2019
The incident was captured on video by a fan who shared it on Twitter with the caption: “SHE FELL ON BEAT I HAVE TEARS”.
Grande proved she could laugh at herself when she retweeted the video and remarked, “oh my. at least i still made the button. i’m crying. things were going too well.”
The 26-year-old laughed off the incident during the concert when she said: “Thank you for making me feel loved when I fell earlier. I had to fall. It’s been 87 shows and I haven’t fallen yet, so it had to happen.”
The 7 Rings singer had returned to performing after having had to cancel a concert in Kentucky on Nov 17. She told fans she was “very sick” with a sinus infection.
Well, if she does need to take a few more sick days, maybe her TikTok twin can take her place. Social media star Paige Niemann, who is 14, has been impersonating Grande on the platform and the resemblance is uncanny. Even Grande herself is amazed.
Check it out for yourself.
