Blackpink’s album will drop in October, new single in August with surprise guest
The first single, How You Like That, set a YouTube record for the most viewed music video in 24 hours when it was released in June.
K-pop stars Blackpink will release their full-length debut album on Oct 2. They announced the news on Tuesday (Jul 28), together with a teaser poster on social media.
The group released the album’s first single, How You Like That, last month, which set a YouTube record for the most viewed music video in 24 hours with more than 86 million views.
And before the full album drops, there will also be a second single released in August, featuring a surprise guest.
Fans are speculating that the guest singer in question is Selena Gomez, although Blackpink’s management YG Entertainment has only said: “Please wait for the official announcement later.”
The girl group is no stranger to collaborations with other celebrities. The quartet appeared on Lady Gaga’s recent album, Chromatica, on a track called Sour Candy.
Their much-anticipated upcoming album follows the release of the EP, Kill This Love, in 2019.
