ARMYs have a new BTS album to look forward to – the K-pop mega boyband announced on Tuesday (Jan 7) that Map Of The Soul: 7 will drop on Feb 21 with pre-orders starting on Thursday (Jan 9).

The new album is the follow-up to Map Of The Soul: Persona, which was released in April last year.

The band's agency, Big Hit Entertainment, has since shared the album’s rollout plan that will take place in four phases.

Phase one begins with the comeback trailer titled Shadow out on Jan 10, followed by the release of the first single on Jan 17 and an accompanying Art Film performed by MN Dance Company. A second comeback trailer called Ego is expected on Feb 3 in phase two.

Throughout phases one and two are events referred to as Connect, BTS in several cities around the world including London, New York and Seoul.

According to Big Hit Entertainment: “Anticipation remains high as BTS continues the Map Of The Soul series. Global fans are eager to discover how the story will continue on from the previous instalment, which explored the message of finding joy in love and reaching out to the world."

Big Hit also got fans all excited about the prospect of a possible tour several days before the album announcement with the tweet: “April 2020. Stay tuned.”

The seven BTS members – V, Jungkook, Jimin, Jin, Suga, RM and J-Hope – took an extended break in August last year, their first since debuting in 2013. They recently performed Make It Right and Boy With Luv on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in New York City.
