Die-hard BTS fans have been waiting for this day – the K-pop group’s Map Of The Soul pop-up showcase in Singapore opened on Saturday (Nov 14) at Plaza Singapura and will be there for three months until Feb 14, 2021.
And local ARMYs should count themselves lucky as Singapore is only one of the three locations where the showcase is held – the other two being in Seoul and Tokyo.

So what can we expect? It's a much smaller space than Seoul's three-storey building. But you'll still find Instagram-worthy backdrops as well as things to buy – which you’ll need to do within the allocated one-hour slot you’ve been given after you’ve scheduled a slot.

Inside the garage-themed interior, much like the Seoul pop-up, are many references to the tracks and music videos of BTS’ Map Of The Soul: 7 album.

Fans will recognise the pair of neon wings as a nod to the group’s Black Swan music video. And instead of a giant doughnut, a pop-py Disco backdrop brings on the feel-good vibe of the Dynamite video.

If you can’t get enough of BTS’ TinyTAN, the animated characters based on the band members, you can pose with Jimin and gang for pictures. Look out for TinyTAN Christmas merchandise in December.
The star buys here are the exclusive Dynamite-themed merchandise only available at the physical showcase. Expect a surprise theme change.

Over 300 BTS items, such as apparels, accessories and lifestyle items, are up for grabs and new ones will be released weekly. Prices range from S$9 for a pen to S$200 for a cardigan.

What do fans think so far? "The pop-up's selection is more wearable than the usual merchandise that they put up," said graduate Syahirah Afif, 23, who was looking forward to getting a cardigan or denim jacket.
"The space is not as big as the Seoul pop-up I saw on YouTube. But it's still nice to be able to buy some stuff to support them," said marketing executive Vanessa Tan, 25.
Meanwhile, for those who can’t make it in person, there’s also the online BTS Pop-Up: Map Of The Soul store, which opens for the same duration as the pop-up.
