Model Chrissy Teigen suffers a miscarriage after pregnancy complications
Teigen writes of the loss of her baby with singer John Legend: "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before”.
Model Chrissy Teigen announced on Thursday (Oct 1) that she has lost her baby.
Teigen was carrying her third child with husband, singer John Legend.
She posted the news of the miscarriage on social media, along with several photos.
She wrote: "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough”.
She revealed that she and Legend had started calling the baby Jack.
“Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever. To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you," she shared on Instagram.
Teigen had been in hospital since Sunday after suffering from heavy bleeding. She had been on bed rest for several weeks before that as her pregnancy was deemed high-risk.
She gave thanks to those who have supported them and sent them “positive energy, thoughts and prayers”.
“On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it,” Teigen wrote.
Teigen and Legend are parents to four-year-old Luna and two-year-old Miles.
