Chrissy Teigen, who a month ago went public with the death of her son due to a miscarriage at 20 weeks, has revealed a new tattoo in his honour.

Teigen tweeted a photo on Sunday (Nov 1) of herself and her husband, singer John Legend, holding hands with the new ink – the name Jack written in cursive – on her wrist.

Legend and Teigen announced the death of their son on Oct 1 after she suffered pregnancy complications and experienced heavy bleeding.

Her announcement on social media then, which came with raw photos of herself and Legend grieving, drew divided responses from the public, some of whom criticised the photos for being distasteful.

However, in an essay she wrote on Medium in late October, she declared, “I cannot express how little I care that you hate the photos. How little I care that it’s something you wouldn’t have done. I lived it, I chose to do it, and more than anything, these photos aren’t for anyone but the people who have lived this or are curious enough to wonder what something like this is like”.

Teigen also shared that she had asked Legend to take the photos – even though he was hesitant – because she “needed to know of this moment forever, the same way I needed to remember us kissing at the end of the aisle, the same way I needed to remember our tears of joy after (their children) Luna and Miles”.

The couple’s two other children are two-year-old Miles and four-year-old Luna. She added in her essay that she and Legend explain to their kids that Jack exists “in the wind and trees and the butterflies they see”.
