Christian Bale looks unrecognisable as villain on Thor: Love And Thunder
The actor was photographed on set in a silver and grey costume – and with silver paint covering his face. He has previously been confirmed to play Gorr the God Butcher.
Christian Bale has been photographed on the set of Thor: Love And Thunder this week, in Malibu, California, as reported by the Daily Mail. At least, people online are saying it’s him – you see, he’s unrecognisable in his costume.
The 47-year-old actor was seen in a full-length grey robe and grey headscarf, complete with grey body paint on every visible inch of his skin, including his face.
Bale was previously confirmed to play villain Gorr the God Butcher in this upcoming installment of the hit Marvel franchise, directed by Taika Waititi.
Principal filming was completed in June for the film so this is likely to be for reshoots.
The actor’s complete disappearance into a character is a well-known phenomenon as he’s done the same in previous movies, including losing lots of weight for The Machinist and gaining the pounds for American Hustle.
Just last week, actor Jared Leto was also hailed for his complete transformation playing the character of Pablo Gucci in the upcoming House Of Gucci, which also stars Lady Gaga and Adam Driver.
Not a lot is known with regards to the plot of Thor: Love And Thunder. What we do know is that Natalie Portman will be playing a female Thor, Tessa Thompson is reprising her role as Valkyrie and Matt Damon will have a cameo role as “actor Loki”.
Thor: Love And Thunder in expected in theatres in May 2022.
