Disney star sued for sending explicit messages and videos to 13-year-old girl
Kyle Massey, best known for the series That's So Raven, first met the girl when she was four years old.
Disney star Kyle Massey, best known for his role as Cory Baxter in That’s So Raven, was sued on Friday (Mar 15) by a 13 year old for sending her explicit texts, video and photos in December.
In court documents obtained by People, Massey, 27, had met the teen at Universal City with her mother when she was just four years old. The girl is not named in the lawsuit as she is a minor.
The pair kept in touch as the teen was interested in a career in entertainment, with Massey offering to help and even developing a bond with her family, according to court documents.
The issue arose when the teen texted Massey in November 2018 to express her interest in auditioning for a reboot of his spinoff series Cory In The House. He allegedly planned to have the Seattle-based teen live with him and his girlfriend in Los Angeles while he helped her to find an agent.
In December 2018, Massey requested to be friends with the girl on SnapChat and shortly after, started sending her “numerous sexually explicit text messages, images, and videos”.
The teen is suing the actor for at least US$1.5 million (S$2 million), according to the lawsuit.
