The lovable manga character will be guiding museumgoers on a journey to rediscover Singapore.
Everyone’s favourite robot cat, Doraemon, is coming to the National Museum of Singapore.
From Saturday (Oct 31) till Dec 27, museumgoers will get a chance to rediscover Singapore with Doraemon’s Time-Travelling Adventures in Singapore exhibition.
And the fun starts even before you enter the building. There are several life-sized Doraemon figures on the front lawn of the museum, as well as the famous Anywhere Door. You won’t be able to transport yourself anywhere but you will get plenty of selfie opportunities here!
Come inside and Doraemon will accompany you through exhibits such as Doraemon’s Gadgets of the Future. Check out Doraemon’s Doc-in-a-Box and Shrink Ray while at the temporary Gadgets of the Past showcase, you can learn about gadgets that were used in Singapore in the past but which also boasted futuristic designs and features.
And find out more about lesser-known neighbourhoods in Singapore via an online interactive trail called Let’s Jalan-Jalan! – there’s even an online scavenger hunt.
Did you even visit the exhibition if you don’t have merchandise to show for it? The museum will be selling limited quantities of collectibles on select weekends of the school holiday period. These have been designed by Supermama and based on iconic objects that were commonly used in the 1970s to 1990s.
