The Rock makes impassioned speech online, fans now want him to run for president

The actor, whose real name is Dwayne Johnson, posted a lengthy video message on Instagram about working together as a country to stand against systemic racism.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson: Actor, former pro wrestler and, um, future politician perhaps?

Johnson, who has 185 million followers on Instagram, uploaded a video on the platform where he called for leadership during these trying times in an eight-minute speech on Thursday (Jun 4).

In the speech, he called for a leader to unify the country and take accountability.

He said: “Where is our compassionate leader who's going to step up to our country who's down on its knees, and extend a hand and say, 'You stand up, stand up with me because I got you. I hear you, I'm listening to you. And you have my word that I'm going to do everything in my power, until my dying day, my last breath, to do everything I can to create the change that is needed, to normalize equality because Black Lives Matter.' Where are you?"

He added that while the country waited for that leader to emerge, "I recommend to all of you, that we must become the leaders we’re looking for."

His message resonated with a lot of people as the post has been liked millions of times.

Some are so inspired by his speech that they're calling for him to run for president.

“THE ROCK FOR PRESIDENT ‼️” wrote rapper Casanova.

Another fan commented: “Kids, let me tell you about how The Rock became President Dwayne Johnson.”

Could that be what The Rock is cooking?
