Nathan Hartono, Taufik Batisah in special concert to celebrate Singapore’s 55th birthday

Enjoy a special concert featuring a star-studded assembly of local talents to celebrate the nation’s 55th birthday – and Singapore’s resilience in combating COVID-19.
The Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert 2020 will premiere on Aug 10 at 8pm on Mediacorp platforms: Channel 5, meWATCH and meWATCH YouTube.
Class 95FM DJ Jean Danker will host the one-hour show, featuring local personalities such as Nathan Hartono, Taufik Batisah, Inch Chua, Yung Raja, Kumar, Gurmit Singh and Suhaimi Yusof.
Highlights include the guest of honour, President Halimah Yacob, and her husband Mr Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee participating in a special rendition of Home, accompanied by artistes Desmond Tan, JJ Neo and Taufik.
There will also be an ensemble performance of The Light, the tune produced by Mediacorp to cheer on the frontline heroes battling the pandemic, featuring celebrities such as Jarrell Huang, Richie Koh, James Seah, Daryl-Ann and Felicia Chin.
Viewers can enjoy the performances that have been filmed across iconic Gardens by the Bay locations such as the Supertrees, Flower Dome and Cloud Forest.
Said President Halimah: “Music can uplift the community and foster a shared sense of belonging during this challenging time. Despite COVID-19, I am glad that Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp remain dedicated to bringing the National Day Concert to Singaporeans. I hope this year’s concert will provide some encouragement and rally our diverse communities together as one people amidst the challenges ahead.”
