Gwyneth Paltrow makes Contagion reference as she wears a face mask on a plane
The actress, who played patient zero in the 2011 film about a deadly virus, wrote on social media: "Paranoid? Prudent? ... I've already been in this movie."
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow delivered a PSA about personal hygiene during the COVID-19 outbreak and managed to throw in a reference to her 2011 movie Contagion at the same time.
The actress and Goop founder posted a photo of herself on Instagram on Wednesday (Feb 26) in a black face mask while on a plane.
Paltrow wrote: “En route to Paris. Paranoid? Prudent? Panicked? Placid? Pandemic? Propaganda? Paltrow’s just going to go ahead and sleep with this thing on the plane.”
“I’ve already been in this movie. Stay safe. Don’t shake hands. Wash hands frequently,” she continued.
Fans of the Steven Soderbergh movie will know that Paltrow is patient zero in the film about a fast-spreading, highly infectious, deadly virus. Her character was the one responsible for bringing the fictional virus to the US after she contracted it while on a business trip in Hong Kong.
Paltrow is not the only celebrity taking precautions to avoid infection. Another actress who’s not taking any chances is Kate Hudson, who uploaded a photo on Instagram of herself wearing a surgical mask. She captioned the post: “Travel. 2020.”
