Actor Henry Golding in talks to play Snake Eyes in GI Joe movie spinoff

Henry Golding of Crazy Rich Asians fame is currently in early talks to star in a spinoff of GI Joe called Snake Eyes. This is according to sources who spoke to Variety.
The titular character, based on the popular Hasbro line of toys, is a ninja commando who dresses in all black, has a pet wolf called Timber and doesn’t speak or show his face, which is a waste of such a good-looking face, if you ask us.
The film by Paramount, Skydance and Allsparks will be directed by Divergent’s Robert Schwentke and produced by Brian Goldner, with a script by Evan Spiliotopoulos, who wrote Beauty And The Beast and The Huntsman: Winter’s War.
This will be the third GI Joe movie after 2009’s GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra and 2013’s GI Joe: Retaliation. Actor Ray Park played Snake Eyes in both films.
Golding has been signed to several high-profile projects since appearing in the hit rom-com last year. He starred opposite Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick in the Paul Feig-directed, A Simple Favor.
He’ll next appear in another Feig movie, starring opposite Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke in the romantic comedy Last Christmas in Nov. After that, he'll be in Guy Ritchie’s crime comedy, The Gentleman, set for release in Jan 2020.
The actor of English and Iban descent is also working on projects through his own company, Long House Productions.
