Justin Bieber is putting music on hold to focus on mental health and wife Hailey
The 25-year-old former child star shared an emotional Instagram post early Tuesday morning (Mar 26).
Justin Bieber is putting his mental health first, even if that means taking time off music.
The 25-year-old took to Instagram early Tuesday (Mar 26) and spoke to fans in a lengthy post about why he had made the decision to focus on himself instead of music after he “read a lot of messages” from followers about his upcoming plans for an album.
“So I read a lot of messages saying you want an album .. I’ve toured my whole teenage life, and early 20s, I realized and as you guys probably saw I was unhappy last tour and I don’t deserve that and you don’t deserve that, you pay money to come and have a lively energetic fun light concert and I was unable emotionally to give you that near the end of the tour,” wrote Bieber.
“I have been looking, seeking, trial and error as most of us do, I am now very focused on repairing some of the deep rooted issues that I have as most of us have, so that I don’t fall apart, so that I can sustain my marriage and be the father I want to be. Music is very important to me but Nothing comes before my family and my health,” he continued.
“I will come with a kick ass album ASAP, my swag is undeniable and my drive is indescribable his love is supernatural his grace is that reliable.... the top is where I reside period whether I make music or not the king said so. but I will come with a vengeance believe that.. (grammar and punctuation will be terrible pretend it’s a text where u just don’t care),” he quipped.
His wife, Hailey Baldwin, commented “that’s right… love you so much it hurts!!!”
Bieber last went on tour with his album Purpose, but cancelled the run in July 2017 after 18 months due to extreme exhaustion, a source told PEOPLE at the time.
Justin opened up about his mental health struggles in a candid interview with Vogue last week alongside his wife Hailey Baldwin.
The celebrity couple, who tied the knot last September, revealed difficulties of marriage but reaffirmed their commitment to each other. The couple only began dating three months before the big day.
Last month, a source told celebrity news site E! News that the 25-year-old singer is "battling depression and he's been having a difficult time”.
