Selena Gomez just dropped her latest single, Lose You To Love Me, which seems to be referring to ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber.

It’s hard not to think so when the song is about letting go of a toxic relationship and embracing self-love.

And then there’s this particular line: “In two months you replaced us / Like it was easy.”

In real life, Gomez and Bieber broke up in Mar 2018 after dating on and off since 2010. He then rekindled his romance with Hailey Baldwin and by July, the two of them were engaged.

Bieber and Baldwin got married in an official ceremony in September 2018 before throwing a more lavish do for family and friends on Sep 30 this year.

Now the Internet is buzzing because Baldwin seems to have thrown some shade at Gomez soon after the single was released.

Mrs Bieber posted a screenshot on Instagram story of the song I’ll Kill You by Summer Walker, featuring Jhene Aiko.

The song has this line: “Don't want no problems, I wish a b**** would / Tryna come between us, it won't end up good.”

However, Baldwin has insisted that her post is not a “response” to Gomez’s song.

She commented on a JustJared social media post: “Please stop with this nonsense. There is no ‘response.’ This is complete BS."

You have to admit, though, that the timing is mighty suspicious.

Meanwhile, Gomez said in a statement that the song, which she co-wrote, was “inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album.”

She added: “I thought it was important to share the music, as I know many can relate to the fact that the road to self-discovery generally comes through the scars in one’s life. I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself.”
