Together again: K-pop group Girls’ Generation held a mini reunion
Seohyun, Hyoyeon, YoonA, Taeyeon, Yuri and Sooyoung delighted fans by sharing a photo of their "sudden gathering."
K-pop band Girls’ Generation had a mini reunion on Wednesday (Jul 17) with six members. Seohyun posted a couple of photos of her meetup with Hyoyeon, YoonA, Taeyeon, Yuri and Sooyoung on her Instagram Stories.
She captioned it: “Girls’ Generation sudden gathering. We miss Tiffany and Soon Kyu (Sunny's real name).”
Sooyoung also shared a black-and-white photo from the gathering on her Instagram account. She captioned it: “We’re also someone’s Girls’ Generation unnies.” The Korean term is used by a younger girl to refer to an older female.
She was making a reference to an earlier photo she posted of Lady Gaga and 90s K-pop group Fin KL, when she called them her “unnies”.
The eight-member girl group last released music together in Aug 2017 – the album Holiday Night to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
The two members missing from Wednesday’s reunion had one of their own in Feb when Sunny posted a photo of herself and Tiffany enjoying drinks together. She captioned the image: “A friend who is like a time machine. When I’m with you, I always go back to when I was 19 years old!”
Each group member has been busy with her own solo project. According to Soompi, YoonA is starring in the movie EXIT; Taeyeon will be contributing a song to the Hotel Del Luna soundtrack, and Seohyun has signed on with Namoo Actors.
Meanwhile, Hyoyeon will be making a comeback as DJ HYO with new single, Badster, and Tiffany is going on a North American solo tour after releasing the single Lips On Lips.
Sooyoung recently starred in the movie Girls Cops, while Sunny is appearing in Shall We Chicken. Yuri also appeared in her first play, Grandpa Henri And I.
