Korean actress Kim Mi-soo, who played a supporting role in the K-drama series Snowdrop, died on Wednesday (Jan 5). She was 29.

The death was confirmed in a statement by her agency Landscape. The cause of death was not revealed, and the agency appealed to the public not to speculate on her death.

The translated statement read: Kim suddenly left us on Jan 5. The bereaved family is heartbroken by the news. Please refrain from reporting false rumours or speculation so that the family can mourn in peace.”

It added that the funeral will be held privately, according to the family’s wishes.

Kim played a student activist named Yeo Jeong-min in Snowdrop, which is currently streaming on Disney+. The series, which also stars Blackpink singer Jisoo and actor Jung Hae-in, began facing criticism several months before it premiered in December over perceived historical distortions about the country’s pro-democracy movement of 1987.

Kim had appeared in several K-dramas, including Into The Ring, The School Nurse Files and Hellbound.
