Yes, Lady Gaga does have a bun in the oven - but it's not what you think
The Academy Award winner is returning to the studio, not entering the maternity ward.
Lady Gaga has addressed pregnancy rumours and confirmed her sixth album is on the way, all in one tweet.
Yes, she is expecting to breathe life into something: It's her upcoming new album, actually.
The rumour that she might be in the family way stems from the singer's steamy performance of the Oscar-winning song Shallow with co-star Bradley Cooper at the Academy Awards, sparking speculation that the pair’s chemistry wasn’t just onscreen.
“Rumours I’m pregnant? Yeah, I’m pregnant with #LG6,” wrote Gaga on Wednesday (Mar 13).
The hashtag refers to her sixth studio album, the follow-up to her 2016 country pop album Joanne, which later influenced contemporaries Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, Kesha and Florence + The Machine to adopt a stripped-down approach to production on their individual albums.
Her tweet was fired off just minutes within following Rihanna and producer BloodPop on Instagram. The singer follows only 40 accounts, including Lena Dunham, Kesha, Donatella Versace and Mark Ronson.
Formerly known as Blood Diamonds, American producer BloodPop last worked with Gaga on Joanne, along with Ronson. The 28-year-old was also behind the 2017 smash hit Friends, featuring Justin Bieber, and has been linked with electronic artists Grimes and HANA.
In 2013, Rihanna was rumoured to be featuring on Gaga’s ARTPOP track Sexxx Dreams after the two tweeted publicly to each other. However, Rihanna and Gaga have never released a track together.
The Oscar-nominated lead actress of the musical drama A Star Is Born is expected to continue the year as strongly as she began it. Her Las Vegas residency Lady Gaga Enigma will resume in May and run through November this year, with her Jazz and Piano engagements occurring every two concert dates.
