A mini-Friends reunion between Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Matt LeBlanc
The three ex-cast members of the hit sitcom take a wefie, and the Internet goes wild.
Nostalgia is rife at the moment – at least when it comes to that quintessential 90s sitcom, Friends. Back in September, just two days before the 25th anniversary of the show’s debut, Google slipped a few quirky Friends-themed Easter Eggs on its portal.
On the anniversary weekend, a special three-night screening was held in the US. Friends 25th: The One With The Anniversary, in which 12 fan favourite episodes were remastered in 4K, took in US$2.9 million (S$4 million) at the box office.
But perhaps the most nostalgic reference came from none other than former cast member Courteney Cox’s – who played Monica Geller on the show – own Instagram account this weekend.
The photo shows half the cast – Cox, Matt LeBlanc and Jennifer Aniston – in an apparent domestic setting. Cox captioned the post “A rare night and I love it”, hinting at how rarely the old gang gets to hang out these days. Her post has attracted almost 2 million likes since.
Fans remain ever hopeful of a Friends reunion, despite co-creator Marta Kauffman publicly saying that there will never be one.
