South Korean singer Rain, Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh visited Keng Eng Kee Seafood zi char restaurant
The restaurant, which is located near Alexandra Village Food Centre, was visited separately by the two global stars.
Over the past week, diners at the Singapore zi char restaurant Keng Eng Kee Seafood were hit with a double whammy of stars as South Korean singer-actor Rain and Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh were spotted there.
Wayne Liew, the head chef and co-owner of Keng Eng Kee Seafood, uploaded his interactions with the two celebrities – who visited the Bukit Merah eatery separately – on his social media pages.
Charmaine Sheh had reportedly visited Keng Eng Kee Seafood on Aug 28, a day before her appearance at an event by Singaporean beauty brand Ble de Fonty. According to Liew, Sheh is one of his "favourite artistes". The Story of Yanxi Palace star was pictured in a striped Miu Miu polo tee, posing with staff members of Keng Eng Kee Seafood.
Rain, who was in town for the inaugural Waterbomb Singapore festival, visited Keng Eng Kee Seafood with his entourage at an unknown date and appeared to have eaten a claypot dish and a vegetable dish at the eatery.
The Rainism singer was later seen greeting fans outside Keng Eng Kee Seafood.
Judging by the cameraman tailing him and recording his food, the 42-year-old entertainer also appeared to be filming content separately.
Keng Eng Kee Seafood started as a hawker stall in the 70s and is currently being run by its third generation of owners. It is famous for its crab dishes, horfun and coffee pork ribs, and was awarded the Michelin Plate from 2016 to 2023.
