If you thought you’d seen the end of Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man after the events of Avengers: Endgame, think again.

According to Deadline, the actor is slated to appear as the superhero one more time in Black Widow’s solo outing, planned for May 2020. Both characters were killed off at the end of Endgame, however, the new film is a prequel which explains how fans can see them again.

Black Widow, which stars Scarlett Johansson, is kicking off Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film picks up after the events of Captain America: Civil War and will provide the back story for Johansson’s character.

It’s unclear how big Downey’s role will be in the upcoming movie, if he’ll be filming new scenes for it or if the studio will use previously shot footage.

The blockbuster hit Endgame won six awards at the Saturn Awards on Sep 13, an event that celebrates sci-fi, fantasy and horror films and TV shows. Downey won best actor while his screen nemesis, Josh Brolin as Thanos, won for best supporting actor.
