The new Batman, Robert Pattinson, has received some very important advice from the previous Caped Crusader, Christian Bale, about what it takes to embody the superhero.

Apparently, it has to do with being able to relieve yourself without any outside help when you're wearing the Batsuit.

Bale was asked by Variety at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) if he had any words of wisdom to pass on to Pattinson, and he cheekily said, “Just be able to pee by yourself.”

He explained: “You don’t feel like a superhero when you aren’t able to p*** by yourself.”

The British actor also endorsed Pattinson for the role, calling his casting a “Good choice!”

Bale was Batman in three successful Christopher Nolan-helmed movies: Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. The role was later played by Ben Affleck in Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman and Justice League.

He wasn’t the only star who had positive words to say about Pattinson’s new role. Matt Damon, who was also at the event, called Pattinson “fantastic” in the 2017 crime thriller Good Time.

Meanwhile, Pattinson’s ex-girlfriend and Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart also showed him some love at TIFF. She told Variety: “Oh man, I feel like he’s the only guy that could play that part. I am so happy for him. It’s crazy.”

Pattinson was officially cast as Batman at the end of May. The Batman is expected to be released in Jun 2021.
