There are more details about the role Korean actress Song Hye-kyo will be playing in a new series written by Descendants Of The Sun screenwriter Kim Eun-sook. Song’s involvement in the show was revealed last week.

The new series is titled The Glory and it’s going to start off with eight episodes, with multiple seasons planned. This is according to Hwa & Dam Pictures, the production company behind the show.

The plot tells of a person who dreamed of becoming an architect when she was younger but had to quit school because she was badly bullied by her classmates.

One of the perpetrators gets married and has a child years later and the bullying victim ends up as the child’s teacher. She then puts in motion her plan to take revenge on all those who hurt her in the past.

This is Song’s first drama series since she starred in Encounter in 2018.

This also marks the second time she’s working with screenwriter Kim, the first being the hit series Descendants Of The Sun, which ran in 2016.

The Glory will begin production in the second half of the year with Anh Gil Ho directing. His previous works include Memories Of The Alhambra and Record Of Youth.

Followers of Korean entertainment news will of course be aware that Song married her Descendants co-star, Song Joong-ki, in 2017, leading to the nickname Song-Song couple. They divorced in July 2019.

Song Joong-ki also has a new project out – his sci-fi movie Space Sweepers is set to premiere on Netflix on Feb 5.
