After decades of thrilling audiences worldwide, acclaimed singer-actress Sarah Brightman will finally get to showcase her theatrical chops to fans in Asia in 2025.

Brightman is starring as Norma Desmond in a new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard which will have its Asia premiere at Singapore's Sands Theatre in February 2025. Her last performance in Singapore was in 2022 during her Christmas Symphony concert tour.

Based on the classic Paramount film about the relationship between a screenwriter and a former silent-film star, the musical version of Sunset Boulevard premiered in 1993. Its original Broadway production won six Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Original Score and Best Book.

A waitlist to be first in line for tickets to Sunset Boulevard is now open at organiser Base Entertainment Asia's website until Sep 10.

UOB cardmembers, on the other hand, can enjoy two presale sessions. The first will start from 10am on Sep 11 via Klook. The second will be held from Sep 12 to 22 via Sistic and Marina Bay Sands Ticketing. Cardmembers will be entitled to 20 per cent off ticket prices during both presale sessions, and 15 per cent off from Sep 23.

General sales will then commence on Sep 16.

In a statement, Brightman expressed her excitement towards the upcoming show, saying: "I am thrilled to be making my Asian theatrical debut with Sunset Boulevard in Singapore. I have always admired Andrew’s work on this musical and look forward to delving into the incredible score and iconic character of Norma Desmond.

"What makes this experience even more special is that it is happening in Singapore, a city I have always cherished. So, are you ready, Singapore? Because I am ready for my close-up!"

Chantal Prudhomme, the CEO of Base Entertainment Asia, echoed her sentiments, adding: "We are honoured to be presenting the legendary Sarah Brightman in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic Sunset Boulevard. This production is yet another exciting Asia Premiere secured by Base Entertainment Asia."
