Suzy Bae of Miss A leaving JYP Entertainment to join Management Soop
The K-pop star will leave the management company at the end of March.
South Korean singer and actress Suzy Bae will leave JYP Entertainment at the end of this month, announced the management company on Tuesday (Mar 26).
The 24-year-old star, who debuted at 15 as part of the girl group Miss A in 2010, will terminate her contract with the management agency on Mar 31 and sign with Management Soop. Management Soop is known for managing Goblin's Gong Yoo, Dr Romantic's Seo Hyun-Jin and Temperature of Love's Kim Jae-Wook.
On Bae's Instagram post uploaded on Mar 26, fans left comments asking her to stay in JYP.
The starlet has been with JYP Entertainment since she was part of Miss A and after the disbanded in December 2017.
JYP Entertainment released an official statement about her departure: "Hello, this is JYP Entertainment. We would like to announce that Suzy's exclusive contract with us ends on March 31. Over the past few months, we have held discussions with Suzy and we have come to a mutual agreement not to renew her contract. Following her debut with missA in 2010, she has done her best at everything she does, and showed great passion.”
The agency added: “In 2017, she renewed her contract with us, showing the mutual special connection between us. We would like to send our gratitude to Suzy, who has gone through thick and thin with JYP Entertainment for 9 years from 2010 until now, and grown with JYP together.
“We would also like to thank the fans for their generous support for all of the achievements and challenges that Suzy has taken on with JYP Entertainment. Although our official relationship together has ended, JYP Entertainment will support whatever path Suzy decides to go on in the future.”
JYP Entertainment is one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea. Established in 1997, it operates as a record label, talent agency, music production company, event management and concert production company and music publishing house.
