Twice member Nayeon recently donated 30 million won (US$22,900) to help underprivileged patients at Dongkang Hospital. As reported by South Korean news outlet Star News, the donation will be used for the surgical expenses of these patients.

With her donation, Nayeon also became the first honour society member of the Community Chest Of Korea in 2024. In an induction ceremony held at JYP Entertainment's headquarters on Jan 5, it was revealed that Nayeon had previously donated 20 million won (US$15,300) anonymously in 2022 to help fund the treatment costs for low-income patients at Dongkang Hospital.

"It is a great privilege for me to join the honour society in 2024. I will work hard this year and become an artiste who has a positive influence," said Nayeon at the ceremony.

This isn't Nayeon's first time donating to a charitable cause. In 2020, the 28-year-old singer donated 50 million won to fight against the coronavirus. In 2023, she, along with the remaining eight members of Twice donated 200 million won to help families affected by the earthquakes in Turkiye and Syria.

2024 is shaping up to be a good year for Nayeon. She was recently appointed as a brand ambassador for Bonia and in February, her group will release a new mini album and continue their record-breaking world tour which will see them performing in countries like Mexico and Brazil.
