Westlife will return in February to perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium
“SINGAPORE F1!! You blew us all away! Want to do it again?” the boyband wrote in an Instagram post, fresh from their performance over the weekend.
Hot off the heels of their ballad-filled performance at the recent F1 Singapore Grand Prix concert on Saturday (Oct 1), Westlife are making it a round trip and coming back to Singapore next year.
This time, the Irish pop band will be in town for The Wild Dream Tour, and performing at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Feb 16, 2023.
Ticket prices range from S$128 to S$258 (not inclusive of the S$4 ticketing fee) and will be available for sale from Oct 6, 12pm.
The band made their big announcement on Monday, two days after their enthusiastically received performance at the F1 Grand Prix post-qualifying race concert.
“SINGAPORE F1!! You blew us all away! Want to do it again?” the band wrote in an Instagram post.
Following their record-breaking 2019 reunion tour The Twenty Tour, which saw Westlife performing to over 600,000 fans across 27 cities, the foursome will once again hit the road with the new tour in support of their 12th studio album, which was released in November 2021.
On top of Singapore, the band will also be travelling to Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia and the Philippines, to perform some of their biggest hits including Swear It Again, Flying Without Wings, If I Let You Go, Uptown Girl and Hello My Love.
“We are always excited to return to Asia to see our many fans. After all that has happened in the world over the last few years, this tour means more to us than any that we have ever done before,” said the band collectively via a press statement.
“It will be a massive celebration and will bring us closer to our fans than before. We are planning some spectacular shows which will include all our greatest hits and some special surprises.”
Westlife, billed as the UK’s biggest-selling album group of the 21st century and Ireland’s most successful boyband, was formed in 1998. It now features four of the five original members: Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Shane Filan and Mark Feehily.
The group first rose to fame with their debut international self-titled studio album back in 1999, and boasts 33 number one albums worldwide. To date, Westlife have sold over 55 million records worldwide and are the only band to have their first seven singles enter the UK charts at the top. They also have the most singles of any artist to debut at number one in the UK.
