More music options: YouTube Music now available in Singapore
The new streaming service launches on Wednesday (Nov 6) and music lovers can enjoy the free ad-supported version or subscribe from S$9.98 a month.
Need more ways to listen to music? From Wednesday (Nov 6), music lovers in Singapore can have access to new streaming service, YouTube Music.
The app and web player will host songs, albums, playlists and artist radio, as well as a large catalogue of remixes, live performances, covers and music videos.
The free version includes ads but you can get rid of those and enjoy perks such as offline downloads and the ability to toggle between apps with a paid membership to YouTube Music Premium starting from S$9.98 a month.
For S$11.98 a month, you can subscribe to YouTube Premium, which includes membership to YouTube Music Premium as well as an ad-free experience with background play and offline downloads for millions of videos on YouTube.
Said T.Jay Fowler, YouTube’s director of product management, Music Products, “We’re proud that Singapore’s rich musical heritage and rising talents have a home on YouTube and we’re so excited to bring it closer to our users with the launch of YouTube Music in Singapore.”
Fowler added: “We built YouTube Music to help people find the music they love and bring a richer, smarter and more immersive music experience to fans across the country and around the world.”
Prices stated are for downloads through Google Play Store. YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Premium cost S$12.98 and S$15.98, respectively, on iOS App Store.
To get started, you can enjoy a one-month free trial if you download the YouTube Music app on Google Play Store and iOS App Store.
Google Play Music subscribers will get access to YouTube Music Premium as part of their monthly subscription.
