Headed home: Zhang Zhenhuan bids goodbye to Singapore after 10 years
The actor has decided to move home to China after a 10-year television career in Singapore, and thanks his fans for their support.
Actor Zhang Zhenhuan has decided to return to his home in China when his contract with Mediacorp expires this month.
The Sichuan-born 34-year-old has been a regular face on Channel 8 for the past 10 years.
His career began when he was spotted during the filming of the Channel U talent show U Are The One, while he was pursuing a degree in civil engineering at the National University of Singapore.
In 2016 he won Best Supporting Actor at the Star Awards for his work in The Dream Makers 2. He also clinched Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes awards in 2014, 2016 and 2017.
Although Zhang intends to live and work in China, he does not rule out Singapore-based acting projects in the future.
He declined to be interviewed but said in a press statement: “I’m deeply grateful for the company’s commitment to cultivating and honing my talent. I hope to be given opportunities to work with Mediacorp again on future projects. I would also like to extend my personal and heartfelt thanks to my fans for their support and encouragement over the past decade.”
