Google Pay’s annual social game Huat Pals is back for its fourth edition with a new group of characters and an additional game mode. From now till Feb 18, users can collect in-game goodies and earn rewards as they ring in the Chinese New Year.
Users have to collect five Huat Pals to enter a draw to win one of five prizes: A scratch card with values of up to S$88.88; a pair of Pixel Buds A-Series worth S$149; a pair of Pixel Buds Pro worth S$299; a Pixel P8 worth S$1,099 and a Pixel P8 Pro worth S$1,549.
This year, the Huat Pals are Xixi Haha, Ah Bong, Macho Meow, Hop Hop and Souper Loong – themed after a mandarin orange, drum, cat, firecracker and xiao long bao, respectively.

You can collect these Huat Pals by making eligible transactions above S$5 to merchants via the PayNow QR or UEN, the FavePay QR and by purchasing movie tickets via the Google Pay app.
Another way is to send more than S$10 to friends via the Google Pay app or gift your extra goodies to them.
A new way you can earn a Huat Pal is by playing the latest game mode Huat Match. Akin to Candy Crush, players have to match as many icons as possible with a limited number of moves. You can earn a scratch card if you score 450 points or below, or a Huat Pal if you score 451 and above.
