WhatsApp now lets you generate AI stickers, results range from cute to downright unsettling

All you need to do is add in a few keywords and WhatsApp will generate the sticker.

WhatsApp now lets you generate AI stickers, results range from cute to downright unsettling

The sticker on the left was made using the prompt "Cats eating hot pot" while the one on the right was made using the words "Durian robot".

New: You can now listen to articles.

This audio is generated by an AI tool.

I'll be honest: When it comes to messaging apps, I'm Team Telegram all the way. However, WhatsApp (aka the platform I use exclusively for work chats and family gossip) now has a new AI sticker feature which, admittedly, is very, very fun – even if some of the results are questionable.

Available after WhatsApp's new update, the feature utilises a META service that generates images based on your input text.

Here are some of the stickers I got:

Cute, right? Thankfully, the possibilities go beyond saccharine images.

However, first things first, let's talk about how you can access the AI sticker feature.

1. Launch WhatsApp and click on the smiley emoji on the extreme left.
2. Click the sticker tab on the right and press the huge Create button.

3. Insert your text to generate an AI sticker and you can now use the sticker in your chats.

Of course, you won't be able to generate not-safe-for-work stickers (just take my word for it). However, for now, it seems like you can use real-life celebrities as text prompts to create impossible scenarios like the two below.

Time will tell whether copyright laws will restrict the type of AI stickers you can generate on WhatsApp but for now, enjoy a new way to spice up your conversations!

For those who are steadfastly anti-WhatsApp but still want to flex cute stickers and emojis, try downloading Gboard by Google which allows you to combine different emojis to create one sticker that can be used on any messaging app. For now, this particular feature is only available on Android phones.
