Mandatory COVID-19 testing for 3 HDB blocks at Bukit Batok East, Chin Swee Road and Tessensohn Road

SINGAPORE: All residents of three Housing Board blocks at 237 Bukit Batok East Avenue 5, 51 Chin Swee Road and 683 Tessensohn Road will be tested for COVID-19 after several infections were detected in 12 households, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Friday (Aug 6).

Owners and staff of commercial units at the Chin Swee Road and Tessensohn Road blocks will also be tested to uncover community infections.

So far, seven cases of COVID-19 have been detected across four households at 237 Bukit Batok East Avenue 5, said MOH in a press release.

At 51 Chin Swee Road, four cases were found in four households. Viral fragments were also detected in wastewater samples collected from the block.

Eight cases were detected across four households at 683 Tessensohn Road.

Epidemiological investigations are ongoing to determine links and the source of transmission, said MOH.

The mandatory testing for all three blocks will take place on Saturday between 9am and 4pm.

Testing will be optional for those who have tested negative for COVID-19 from Aug 2 onwards.

Residents of the Bukit Batok East Avenue 5 block can go to 236 Bukit Batok East Avenue 5 to take their tests.

For the Chin Swee Road residents, the testing exercise will be held at the void deck between 51 and 53 Chin Swee Road.

For the Tessensohn Road block, it will take place at deck 4A of the multi-storey car park at 678 Perumal Road.
