Watch: PM Lee announces relaxation of Singapore's COVID-19 measures in national address, ministerial task force gives details

In a national address, PM Lee Hsien Loong announced the maximum size for social gatherings in Singapore will be doubled to 10 next Tuesday. The wearing of masks outdoors will be optional, with 1m distancing between groups.

SINGAPORE: PM Lee Hsien Loong on Thursday (Mar 24) announced relaxation of Singapore's COVID-19 safe management measures. Maximum size for social gatherings in Singapore will be doubled to 10 next Tuesday (Mar 29). The wearing of masks outdoors will be optional, but indoors, masks will still be mandatory, he said.

"We will maintain safe distancing requirements for now – one meter between groups where masks are off, to minimise transmission in mask-off settings," he added.

Mr Lee also announced that Singapore will “drastically” streamline testing and quarantine requirements for travellers and allow people to travel abroad more easily.

The multi-ministry task force held a news conference after to lay out the details.
