SINGAPORE: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered a virtual address at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on Saturday (Jun 11), telling Asia's top defence conference that Ukraine would "definitely prevail in this war that Russia has started".

The Shangri-La Dialogue comes more than three months after Russia invaded Ukraine. Mr Zelenskyy has made several virtual addresses to parliaments, forums and high-profile events around the world, talking about the attack on his country.

Zelenskyy warned on Saturday that the world will face severe food shortage and famine if Ukraine is not able to export food because of Russia's blockade. This will, in turn, result in the fall of many governments, he added.

The Ukrainian president urged world leaders to do everything they can to stop Russia from destroying the freedom of navigation and to restore the full might of international law.

Delegates, including ministers and senior defence officials, from more than 40 countries are attending this year's dialogue in Singapore, now into its 19th edition.
