Mongolia's Olympic uniforms receive praise from netizens
Definitely gold medal-worthy.
Official athletic attires for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics are being unveiled left, right and centre.
While the UK has Ben Sherman, France has Berluti and Malaysia has Yonex Sunrise, we think no country comes close to the outfits the Mongolian Olympic team will be wearing.
The intricate-looking outfits were designed by the up-and-coming Mongolian fashion brand Michel&Amazonka. The label was founded in 2015 and is headed by three sisters – Michel, Amazonka, and Munkhjargal Choigaalaa – who are of Mongolian descent.
After the outfits were revealed online, netizens praised Mongolia for green-lighting such beautiful outfits for their athletes.
“It is truly a blend of beauty and traditional,” commented a netizen.
“Winning a medal seems secondary as long as first impressions are top-notch!” wrote another.
One even hilariously pointed out that it seems like “a fashion showdown between countries instead of the Olympics”.
Some Malaysians were also seen complimenting Mongolia’s reveal while criticising their own.
“Team Malaysia, are you taking notes?” wrote one netizen.
However, some still found fault with Mongolia’s design saying it is not suitable to be worn during summer.
“I wouldn’t want to be caught sweating in that heat wearing that,” scoffed one.
No one said beauty was pain-free.
