A-Mei is coming back with a bang! The 48-year-old Taiwanese singer announced on social media on Thursday (Sep 24) that she’s holding a New Year’s Eve concert. And it’s free.

Her record company, Universal Music Taiwan, has confirmed that the singer will perform a free concert in her hometown of Taitung on Dec 31.

In the post shared on Facebook and Instagram, A-Mei wrote: “Recently and most distant dreams have finally come true. This is my starting point for all, our 2021. I’m back. Are you coming?”

The post also included a short animated clip with the words “Taitung 20/21 a Mei Utopia East” and “coming soon”.

A-Mei added in the caption: "Come here and I'll accompany you to say goodbye to this messy 2020".

This singer, who is of Taiwanese Puyuma descent, has been on hiatus for most of the year to spend time with her family, according to Taiwanese media. Her last album, Story Thief, was released in 2017.
