It seems like almost every day we get word on concerts being cancelled or postponed here due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and the situation appears to be similar overseas as well.

Hong Kong singer Joey Yung was one of those affected by cancellations when her Mar 1 concert in Paris was called off. However, that didn’t stop her from performing for her fans.

While at a Paris train station to make her way to her next concert venue in the Netherlands, she met some fans and decided to give them a very special treat.

She dropped her bags and sang them a song, which she recorded and posted on Instagram on Wednesday (Mar 4). And as luck would have it, there was a piano at the station, which she played as well.

“It is very regretful that the concert in Paris has been cancelled,” she said in the video. “However, I felt that since I’m already here, I should at least perform something for the audience.”

She sang a beautiful rendition of her hit song Chuo Qi, much to the delight of her fans and other onlookers at the train station.

At the end of the two-minute-long video, the captions “Pretty crazy/love in the Hague” popped up as her small audience applauded. She also called for her fans to come and watch her in the Netherlands for her next show.

Her little outing at the train station has drawn admiration from others, with fellow Hong Kong singer Sherman Chung writing: “Very sincere and genuine performance!!!!”

Yung’s manager Mani Fok also commented: “As long as one is passionate about music, everywhere is a stage.”
